While attending SCAD Comotion or similar events can be an excellent way to network and explore job opportunities, it's crucial not to limit oneself to a single perspective.
The motion design industry spans gaming, advertising, animation, and more, so keep an open mind and explore diverse opportunities beyond star studios.
I've compiled a list of resources to help broaden your job search, but this is just a start. Continue researching and sharing resources, stay updated on industry trends, join professional associations, attend events, and network to expand your connections and knowledge.

Any fulltime role or freelance job I've been hired for has been from a stranger reaching out, word of mouth or making a new connection at a networking event online or in person and talking about what I can do for or with them. Get out there and meet people, in my experience, that is where the magic happens.” —
The process of securing jobs is often less about your skills or portfolio and more about your network, including who you know, who knows you, and who can vouch for you.

An electrician is not likely to share a job with another electrician as they would competing with one another. But a carpenter, on the other hand is more likely to refer a customer to an electrician that they trust — A VFX Supervisor

His response to the audience was straightforward: instead of exclusively socializing within their own illustrator community, he encouraged them to venture into diverse communities spanning various disciplines and cultivate new friendships. He emphasized that there was no need for elaborate self-promotion or targeting specific groups. His advice was simple: engage with people authentically, anywhere you meet them.
